Beethoven Violin Sonatas

Beethoven Violin Sonatas

Your source for links, content and information on these great works

Project Beethoven began in 2010 with the Elan Duo’s first performances of the ten violin sonatas and continued with a performance cycle ending in 2012.

This CD compilation represents the culmination of those performances recorded in the summer of 2012. The Beethoven sonatas span the period from 1797 - 1812.

These works show the growth and expressive development of this great composer, as well as his re-interpretation of the violin sonata as a genre from solo works with accompaniment to music where the piano stands on its own as an equal partner in the duo.
